I didn’t watch the Academy Awards and still have no idea who won or even who all was nominated. I used to genuinely care but my interest has been on a slow decline (with my cynicism on a sharp incline) over the last ten years or so. Not only is it on network television which I don’t watch but it’s just so blatantly fixed for high drama, utterly self-congratulatory amongst a group who already think that their high colonic-ed shit doesn’t stink, and well, their movies may be fun diversions but in the grand scheme of things - it really doesn’t matter what dress was worn by whom and who won in what category. It all just comes off as a big diversion for the media from telling us things we really should know about. But these are some nice portraits of actors anyway.

Small towns in the midwest are offering incentive packages to move to their towns - including free land and long term tax discounts. If they can only get rid of the racist homophobic bigotted neighbors that made their children run for the big cities in the first place.

Thanks to more nyquil and being easily amused that guinea pig song is now on permanent repeat in my brain. So I guess that’s the annoying cutesy song of 2005.

Only in Kenya was 2004’s. And did you catch the lapland holiday version? Before that there was Peanut Butter Jelly Time, the viking kittens singing led zeppelin at rather good (not exactly a cutesy song but I think it qualifies), the south park underpants gnomes jingle, and, of course, hamster dance.

Oh and the bright and shiny song from Bubble Boy.

What really annoying song is stuck in your head today?
