Ramona and Beverly will love this post

I'm founding a new little kal group. It's called the Jaycrawlers. Anyone who started and hasn't finished their pair of jays is eligible. Here are the buttons.

Not perfect but it gets the idea across. Wear it with pride.

I heard a rumor that someone from a local knitting guild for which I also pay dues was at Village making teh ugly about knitbloggers, including some local ones. I'm not sure if this is sour grapes over a failed blog attempt or general technophobia but it kind of annoyed me.

I'll clarify a few things for people who read and don't get my blog (or blogs in general) and don't want to read the whole disclaimer.

1. You don't have to read it
2. I'm not writing it for you.
3. Comments about wastes of time and energy are laughable coming from someone who also spends time and money on a hobby that a lot of other people make fun of.
4. Don't like it? Bite me. Or pay my bills and I'll write whatever you want me to write.

Sheesh without the yarn fascists telling me what yarn is unacceptable and the hobby dictators telling me what is and isn't a waste of my spare time, I just don't know what I'd do.

Whatever the hell you feel like doing. I love the buttons!

snarky of them, no? Intimidated by the younger, more-savvy knitters perhaps?

LOVE your jaycrawler buttons! You, m'dear, are hilarious.

Boo hiiss to snarky anti-bloggers!

Love the Jaycrawler buttons!

I'll be bringing one of these buttons over to my site. Some of my students are snarky about my knitting/blogging. 'tev. Girl needs to entertain herself and feel connected. So there!

They are just jealous they haven't been blogging as long like you and just don't get it. :D

LOVE the buttons!!!! Love them! I'm going to have an I survived jaywalking button on the blog tomorrow - when I announce the winners. ANYONE, done or not, is welcome to display it proudly.

Screw anyone who complains about blogs. It's just like TV - don't like it, don't read it.

Hey, I'm in the Guild (and I heard the comments too). Me, I love blogs, especially knitting blogs! There are always some people who aren't going to like/appreciate what you do, and that's OK cuz it's a big world with room for everybody. What really grinds me, though, is the judgmental elitist tone some of them take -- that's just plain Not Nice! And over the years I have come to think that Being Nice is almost more important than anything else in any social interaction.

I for one and SO VERY greatful to all you knitbloggers out there!!!! I work in Memphis, live in Munford (45min drive). I taught myself to knit off the internet and it was in fact my search for a local class that was convenient that let me to discover the knitting blog community. You guys (YES ALL OF YOU) are wonderful and now I have my own blog - I've never done a diary/journal so I'm enjoying this. I finished my Jaywalker at 11:52 p.m. BUT I feel great knowing that there was a button all ready for me had I not finished!!
