help a girl out

Leave a comment with five songs to put on my ipod that you think are mandatory

I'll listen to pretty much anything. My latest has been that new Gnarls Barkley. I've been enjoying classic Iggy Pop, I always love 70s "sex you up" soul and I'm fairly sure Willie Nelson could sing the Constitution and I'd love it - although that Reggae album was not his best.

Feed my pod please.

Most of the music that I listen to, you already know about. In fact, you're the one who introduced me to a lot of it. There are a few bands I've been meaning to check out, but haven't gotten around to it. So, bands I'm not sure either of us would like, but which someone told me I would:

Blueberry Boat (I'm not sure if this is the name of a band, or an album)
Go Team (recommended by someone that used to be in a band with the drummer, seconded by someone who saw them at an outdoor festival in New Zealand)
Gypsy Punks (listened to them in a car on the way to the Hoover Dam - they were certainly funny, but I'm not certain they were good).

and to get to 5 - I bought the last Gorillaz album, and it's really good. And there was a song called "Trampoline" that 98.1 used to play that I've been meaning to buy, but I can't remember who the artist was.

I love me some mash-ups, so I'll recommend a few of my faves...

Are You Gonna Be My Animal? (Jet vs. Animal)
Somebody Rock Me (The Clash vs. The Killers)
Bizarre Light Triangle (Madonna vs. New Order)
My Other Car is a Beatle (L'Trimm vs. Gary Numan vs. The Beatles)
Lick it Wild (Tone Loc vs. Roula)

Mash-ups seem to be an acquired taste, so I hope you like 'em.

For me these are my must have:

this family (kids and I are huge Coldplay fans)
White Shadows - Coldplay
Fix You - Coldplay
Speed of Sound - Coldplay
I'm Not Okay (I Promise) - My Chemical Romance
I'm Not Sorry - Madonna (Confession on the Dancefloor)

a little mixed up - but those are my favorites. Some to reflect with, some to vent with and some to dance with. :)

WOW! Now that is a loaded question... I only have about 800 songs on my iPod in classical, country, rock, alternative, punk and musical genres. It depends on what mood I am in for what I would recommend. Since it is early in the morning and I have no clue what I am doing out of bed and dressed, here is what I will go with off of the top of my head:

Love and Memories - OAR
Gainesville Rock City - Less than Jake
I Think I love You - The Partridge Family
Wrap Your Arms Around Me - Barenaked Ladies
Ring of Fire - Johnny Cash

Ford Econoline--Nanci Griffith
Wish the Worst-- Old 97's
Brilliant Mistake -- Elvis Costello
Red Dragon Tattoo -- Fountains of Wayne
New York, New York-- Ryan Adams
