So I'm doing my surf thing. I've given up rating weblogs or looking at my own ratings entirely. I've been a good little blog exploder only saying something when I had something nice to say and quietly adding sites that said things I found offensive to my "do not view" list while trying to add the sites I do enjoy to my blogmarks page. And really making an effort to visit and maybe even say hello to the sites that have me blogmarked. I'm genuinely flattered that some of you have enjoyed my site enough to come back. So I hope this doesn't offend you too much. But it must be said.
I just hit my maximum of 25 sites on my "do not view" list and came to an interesting snap decision: I would rather be subjected to obvious sales ploys and pyramid schemes than read one more pro-war pro-bush anti-everything I was raised to believe america to be weblog. I shocked myself but there it is.
Right now I just wish I could add banners to my "do not view" list because I'm staring at one with a fucking FETUS on the top of my BE browser tab.
Folks, if I wanted to watch partially mature human lifeforms suck their thumbs I'd watch our prez on the news mkay?
And Pro Life Blogs dot com? Fuck You. Not in a nice fun way but in a big nasty mean painful way that leaves scars like in the uterus of a woman who had to have a back alley abortion. You and your stupid banner suck.
The fact that there are enough people like you who feel the need to band together in their extreme insecurity of their god's love to the point where they feel they have to earn it by becoming crusaders against women's control of their own bodies bothers me enough. That there are enough weblog authors who buy this bullshit to form a group of possibly more than two (I'm sure as shit not going to give your site any additional hits to find out) is just unspeakably sad to me. But to have to face your nasty ugly fetus imagery while trying to digest my dinner makes me unbelievably angry.
Not towards the women who have to face one of the most difficult decisions they'll ever have to make in their lives as your horrid little design intends - but towards YOU.
Fuck you, fuck your fetus imagery, and fuck the stupid cheap ass standard windows fonts you used on your stupid fucking banner.
yeah, you know, as much as i love having mentally retarded people come and read my blog and totally miss the point of everything to say, im getting pretty tired of it. like so the fuck what if i have a whole bunch of new traffic, if like 997 out of 1000 of those people are idiots?
also, my other favorite thing is when people leave a comment that says something to the effect of:
"just surfed in on blog explosion. you have a really neat concept here."
or something stupid like that. it rules. yeah and nevermind that i now have firsthand up-close proof of exactly why our country has gone to shit, as you so eloquently described above.
cheers

I think I was kinda ignorant as to the amount of evangelican right-wing christians in the blog-world before joinging up to be. I think I wish I didnt know.

I'm not a big fan of any group that needs to force their opinions down your throat. And I hate when self-righteous groups use "bumper stickers" or "banners" to make their all-so-important points. Could they pick sillier modes of communication? It sort of takes away from the seriousness of their messages when everyone else's banner or bumper sticker says something nonsensical or rude. And along comes fanatics to suck the fun right out of the room!!

Amen sister. I came across the same stuff yesterday. Blog posts about how requiring hospitals to give information regarding abortion FORCES doctors to kill babies. Right.
What do these people use for brains? Thanks for saying it better than I could.

I think we have all the same sites on our "do not view" lists. Given a choice between those annoying marketing/pyramid/businness blogs and the hate-spewing, bush-loving, choice-denying nasty blogs, I say, bring on the marketers!
And on the matter of pro-life...do the lives of Iraqi women and children not count? A vote for bush was a vote for pro life was a vote for the war in Iraq was a vote for dead Iraqi babies. Oh, but I suppose that's DIFFERENT.

just like a liberal - for free speech, but only if the speech agrees with you. And, geez, you express yourself so intelligently with all the explitives! Go Bush! Hey, do like you tell all us red staters to do: don't like it? turn the channel!

Awesome rant. It needed saying.

I couldn't agree more. I can't stand blogs like that; bunch of narrow-minded selfish conservatives who reduce a woman's worth to her pelvic region. I take a small amount of comfort by forcing them to view my liberal blog for 30 seconds, naked dancing girl and all (which I've received a couple complaints about, ha). I should put one of my pro-choice blinkies on my main page.

Excellent post -- I'm pretty near my 25-limit for pro-Bush, pro-life, pro-war, pro-idiocy drivel too. I wish "Blog Explosion" was an actual button I could press when I see those blogs.

"just like a liberal!"
ha, what a fucking moron. i love when people throw the word "liberal" around like its slander. (almost as good as when one of these idiots criticized me for having an imagination, literaly!) as if you were sitting here saying that people you don't agree with should have their speech restricted. even though these idiots SHOULD, youre merely talking about not having to expose yourself to it.
myself, i dont have any sites on my block list. nor do i really read any sites that i look at except for occasionally. thats what multiple tabs/windows are for. plus, as much as i hate it, i do like to "keep my finger on the pulse of america" so to speak.
not only that, but its always fun to post intelligent things on their sites that are gonna get them upset

Up you go on *my* blog-roll, young lady.
Hurrah!!

the perfect rant to read directly after landing back in Dubya country.

Preach on. It takes a lot for me to stick someone on my do not view list, but those do it without a doubt. Does putting a blog on your list keep you from seeing their banners, also? I wonder. I like Karen's idea of an actual Blog Explosion button: BOOM, you're an idiot, go talk to yourself in the corner.
