Gypsy Scarf Sets

So I’ve been going through all my yarn and putting these gypsy yarn kits together. I decided to guarantee the randomness (since this seems to be a challenge for some) by tying the yarn in at random times and skeining them up myself.
These will all come with my pattern for a “gypsy scarf” but, really, the way they’re designed you can just cast on and knit and you’ll get a helluva funky scarf. Each skein has a certain kind of color scheme but has a surprise or two to keep things interesting.
I have four so far but I’ll put some more together if there’s any interest. I brought them to stitch n bitch tonight and my friends there are predicting that there will be plenty of interest. 
They’ve also suggested the retail price of 35 dollars. What do ya’ll think?

Vintage cotton linen yarn, a bit of chenille, debbie bliss cotton, some berroco suede, weird ladder yarn, and omg there’s some koigu in there too

There’s probably enough here for two scarves or one shawl. Lots of cotton in different forms - chenille, plied, mercerized, there’s also some ladder yarn, Berroco suede, and a great silk ribbon yarn from Artfibers

Double Tall Vanilla Latte ~187 yds
Funky plied brown cotton (some of the first yarn I ever bought), burgundy wool, pink tufty rowan big wool stuff, lots of interesting textures in this one, I like this one a lot

I’ll put all these up in the etsy shop tonight. I’m also putting together some kits with full skeins, leaving the randomness up to the knitter. This is the first one of those

I was linked to your site from Knitting Pattern Central when I was looking through their new patterns. Your blog gave me something fun to read while I nibbled my way through my lunch. Grover in drag. I thought he looked sort of hot as a little old lady. In a Muppet sort of way, you know. But I’ve said too much.
Thank you for not succumbing to the pressure to have children. I love kids, I love babies, I have one. But they’re not for everybody. People who don’t have kids have more time to knit for mine.
And as for the Project Runway stuff, I’ve only seen a couple of shows, but I would lose my mind if somebody who was a size 4 was referred to as “zaftig.” What sort of satanic fashion culture do designers live in where 4, which is a full 8-10 sizes below normal in the USA, is considered plus-sized? I swear designers make actual plus-sized clothing look like airplane tarps to punish women.
I digress. Very creative, very colorful blog and patterns both. I can see how many of these things would be quick little projects to make simply to dress up a t-shirt and jeans. Or, since I live in the Northeast, a parka and snowpants.

I wonder what would happen if - gasp - one were to crochet with these yarns? Big hook, loose stitch, cool things could still happen. You think? The Double Tall Vanilla Latte is so very tempting.
I think $35 sounds a little low, actually, but I don’t spend much time shopping for this stuff, so I don’t know what the market will bear.
But remember - $ of materials + $ of your time = reasonable price.
i saw someone else do a similar thing with mostly handspun odds and ends, and started making some for my own scarfmaking endeavors, as well as the woven scarf i did (did you see it, with the mesh stuff?) and it is an awesome idea for stash busting. and it is a super good deal(price-wise) for whoever buys it! especially because lots of people can’t put different textures and colors together very well. also, thee is an artist that makes scarves that are a zillion different yarns knotted together, just like a handful, knotted every so many inches in a big bundle, and it is so cool, ribbons and all sorts of stuff. super duper idea!
